The Shimna River (Irish: Simhné, meaning river of bulrushes[2]) is a river in County Down, Northern Ireland. It rises on the slopes of Ott Mountain, in the Mourne Mountains, and enters the Irish Sea at Newcastle, on Dundrum Bay.
