Burmese was Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite and most famous ceremonial horse. A black half-Thoroughbred, half-Hanoverian mare foaled in 1962 in Saskatchewan, she was gifted to the Queen by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in 1969. The Queen rode Burmese for 18 consecutive years at Trooping the Colour from 1969 to 1986.
